JOB PURPOSE:
The Head of Finance will play a crucial role in supporting RDG's financial strategy, reporting to the Interim CFO. This position is a steppingstone to the CFO role, with the successful candidate expected to assume the CFO position upon completion of the Interim CFO's contract, subject to performance evaluation.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
STRATEGIC
1. Financial Leadership
· Provide strategic financial leadership and oversight
· Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with RDG's objectives
2. Investor Relations and Fundraising
· Serve as a key liaison with investors and lenders
· Support debt and equity fundraising efforts
· Develop financial models to support fundraising initiatives
3. Digitalization Improvement
· Enhance ERP systems for improved financial management
· Implement commission computation systems
OPERATIONAL
1. Financial Reporting
· Produce monthly and quarterly Management Accounts (accurately and timeously)
· In conjunction with the Auditors, produce and distribute Audited Annual Financial
2. Internal Control and Risk Management
· Review/Design, communicate, and implement internal controls
· Monitor financial control processes (oversee procurement, fixed assets, inventory, etc.)
· Ensure segregation of duties
3. Cashflow Management
· Prepare cashflow forecasts and advise management of potential risks
· Monitor cashflow regularly to assess potential for fraud and for planning purposes
· Review Procurement process and Authorize payments for submission to signatories
4. Cost Management
· Review costs of sales, payroll costs, overhead costs, and capital expenditure depreciation
5. Audit and Tax and regulatory environment
· Take lead for Annual Audit
· Compute/review tax calculation and submission to authorities
· Manage statutory, compliance, and regulatory returns (Tax authorities, PAYE, etc.)
5. Revenue Assurance
· Produce and distribute invoice analysis
· Analyze sales, gross profits, gross margins, EBITDA margins, and operating profit margins
6. Staff Development and Training
· Train and develop finance staff
· Provide financial training and guidance to fellow executives
8. Oversee the Credit Management
· Oversee credit management processes
· Ensure effective credit risk management
9. Oversee Inventory Management
· Oversee inventory management processes
· Ensure accurate inventory valuation and reporting
III. Requirements
· Professional Qualification:
· Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent (Zambia: ZICA - Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants)
Experience:
· At least 5 years in a senior finance role (Financial Controller, Head of Finance, )
· Experience in the Paygo industry is highly desirable
· Experience with credit management, financial risk management, and internal controls
Skills:
· Financial management and reporting skills
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
· Proficient in financial software and systems (ERP, accounting software, etc.)
· leadership and team management skills
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Industry Knowledge:
· Familiarity with the Paygo industry, financial regulations, and standards in Zambia

Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
